UP Day Writing & Photo Contest
Enter the 2007 Contest!
There will be two winners for the separate categories of the contest: one for the written portion and one for the photo portion. Contestants should submit written pieces or photos that demonstrate the promotion of cross-cultural understanding, friendship, and supporting one another in their own community or abroad. Examples for the written portion can include any fiction, creative non-fiction, or poetry piece inspired by past volunteer Quests, community service, travel experiences, or other personal interactions that deal with the subject of intercommunication and friendship. Photographs can be from one's personal experiences that illustrate these types of events.
Prizes: The winners of the written and photo portions will each be granted one, free volunteer Quest for up to two weeks to any of our short-term locations around the world in order to advance their own personal intercultural interaction and promote social and economic prosperity worldwide. The winner's pieces will also be published on UP's website and in an upcoming newsletter.
